Successful Scoping
We truly believe that the foundation for any project’s success is laid before the project even starts, and that was especially true here. We took nearly 2 months to discuss goals, define deliverables, and make decisions on software.
The most important decision we made was not to use a pre-existing job boards plugin. There are plenty of robust plugins out there, but through our discovery process it became clear that the client’s needs were going to be specialized to a degree that meant a plugin would actually hold us back. Fast-forward a few months to our build phase and we’re doing even more customization than planned!
This project simply would not have been successful if we had not taken the time to understand the goals, both present and future.
The Company Site
A visually striking, yet straightforward walk-through of the company, benefits, and means of contact.
The Job Search Feature
The core of any job list site is, of course, the job search. We took a Google-like approach, focusing on robust search rather than categorization, which evolved over time.
Multiple Easy Ways to Browse Jobs
Responsive Design
Through our iterative mobile development process we were able to achieve smooth interaction similar to a native app, even with complex features like the “omnibox” search.
Getting the Word Out
As with any effective website, it’s not just about the site itself, it’s about getting the word out. As we neared completion on the job boards, the client came to us to design an on-brand email template that would be sent to administrators and educators of new program graduates. We also built a custom script to populate the email with recently uploaded jobs.
